7 Conversion Fixes That Pay for Themselves in a Month

You don't need more traffic. You need more of the traffic you already have to convert. Start with these seven fixes.

Share

Most businesses ask us for more traffic. Usually that's the wrong question. If 1,000 people visit your site each month and 1% convert, doubling your conversion rate is worth exactly as much as doubling your ad spend — and it costs a great deal less.

Here are the seven fixes we apply first on almost every project.

1. Cut Your Form Fields in Half

Every field you add to a form reduces completions. Ask for a name, an email and one qualifying question. You can gather the rest on the call.

2. Put One Clear Action Above the Fold

If a visitor has to scroll to work out what you want them to do, you have already lost a share of them. One primary action per page, stated plainly.

3. Fix Your Largest Contentful Paint

Conversion drops measurably with every additional second of load time. Compress images, defer non-critical scripts, and serve modern formats.

4. Show Proof Next to the Ask

Testimonials, logos and hard numbers work hardest when they sit immediately beside the button, not on a separate page nobody visits.

5. Write Buttons That Describe the Outcome

"Get a Free Audit" outperforms "Submit" because it tells the visitor what they receive rather than what they have to do.

6. Remove Navigation From Landing Pages

On a dedicated campaign page, every extra link is an exit. Strip the page down to the offer.

7. Make the Phone Number Tappable

On mobile, a plain-text phone number is a dead end. Wrap it in a tel: link and watch call volume rise.

Measure, Then Move

Change one thing at a time and give each test enough traffic to mean something. Guesswork dressed up as optimization is still guesswork.
